Umar Akmal lodges formal attraction in opposition to three-year suspension

Umar Akmal has lodged a proper attraction in opposition to the choice of PCB’s disciplinary panel to droop him for 3 years on account of getting significantly breached the board’s code of conduct. In his remarks after the April 27 judgement, Justice Chauhan had stated: “It seems that he [Umar Akmal] isn’t ready to point out regret and search apology, make admission that he failed to meet his duty underneath Anti-Corruption Code, Article 2.4.4, slightly he tried to take refuge underneath the pretext that previously every time any such approaches had been made, the matter was reported by him.

“So far as Cost No.1 is worried, I don’t see any circumstances to mitigate the character of offence, significantly, when the participant has not cooperated with the PCB Vigilance and Safety Division and the investigating staff.

“In view of the admission of the participant that he didn’t speak in confidence to PCB Vigilance and Anti-Corruption Division, the small print of the approaches and invites prolonged to him with out pointless delay. The cost as framed is proved and the participant (Umar Akmal) has rendered himself liable to be punished for breach of Article 2.4.4.”
